At Recharge Therapy we also offer prenatal massage in addition to pelvic floor therapy services. Our goal is to be able to support pregnant patients throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey.
Prenatal massage can be a great addition to pelvic floor or physical therapy. It can also be a wonderful service on its own.
We have a massage therapist on staff who specializes in massaging moms during pregnancy. Not every massage therapist has the training nor feels comfortable working on pregnant patients, and the patients can tell! They can tell when their massage therapist is not a trained specialist and doesn't feel comfortable working on pregnant bodies, and they feel so great after a massage with a trained prenatal specialist, which is what we have here.
What makes a prenatal massage at Recharge Therapy Different?
We have a special pillow just for pregnant folks that allows the client to lie on their stomach for massage. This is loved by all of our clients.
They love it because they get to lie on their stomach which they haven't been able to do.
They also love it because they get a better massage when they can lie on their stomach with this special pillow rather than having to lie on their side.
The clients tell me when they went to a fancy spa during their baby moon and had a prenatal massage on their side it didn't feel as good as getting a massage with us, and the pregnancy pillow is the key difference.
They also notice the difference that our massage therapist feels comfortable giving them some pressure and really working out the tight spots. Often at spas or places where the massage therapist doesn't feel comfortable working on pregnant people they will only do very light massage and many moms tell me that felt like a waste of their time.
Pregnant folks have tight muscles from the pregnancy and body changes happening and they benefit from a skilled massage therapist who can work out the tightness and a set up that allows the pregnant person to fully relax during their massage.
Come see our prenatal massage therapist and give your pregnant body some TLC.
