Pelvic pain is something I treat frequently in my office. Pelvic pain can include:
pain with sitting
tailbone pain
pain with sex
pain with cycling or exercise
Pelvic pain can happen to people of any gender. It is not isolated to women only. I treat plenty of men with pelvic pain, as well.
What Causes Pelvic Pain?
Often pelvic pain is from tight pelvic floor muscles and one of the main treatments is to decrease the tightness of the pelvic floor muscles.
For these patients I do a lot of hands on work in the clinic to help their tight muscles. I will often give them some stretches to do at home and for my female patients, often one of two tools to help them, either a pelvic wand or pelvic dilators to help with their pelvic pain.

Which Tool To Use for Pelvic Pain: A Dilator or a Wand
The two tools I use to help with pelvic pain are a pelvic wand or pelvic dilators. They each work a little differently and one can be more effective than the other, depending on where the pain is, the symptoms and how much area the pain affects.
Pelvic dilators are to help with overall tightness. These are good for people who can't tolerate penetration, vaginal exams or tampons.
The pelvic wand is to work on more specific points of tightness inside the vagina. I probably recommend this tool most often for my clients, because what I usually find on my evaluations is that people have more specific points of tightness rather than overall tightness.
This is something we figure out together at the appointment time, but those are my overall guidance of why I would choose one tool over the other.
Two Trusted Places To Buy These Tools
There are many companies that make these tools now, but I prefer the tools by Intimate Rose and Soul Source. Both are companies I have known and worked with for awhile. Intimate Rose was founded by a pelvic PT and Soul Source is based here in LA county and their products are American made.
This was not my intention when I sat down to write this, but I do have discount codes for both these companies that you can use. I do get a small commission if you use my codes, but I would never promote a company or product that I wouldn't use myself.
Initimate Rose: use code CARRI
Soul Source: use code 04181B
Conclusion:
You don't have to live in pain. Pelvic floor therapy can help, and these two tools can help. I have great success with my clients who have pelvic pain. The vast majority go on to live pain free lives.
